What:
The Our Place Society (OPS) dining room will be bustling with activity tomorrow, as many of Victoria’s homeless and most vulnerable will come off the streets and be treated to a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Our Place expects to serve some 1200 people throughout the day.
When:
Tuesday, December 20th, Doors open at 11:30 am, meals served until 5:00 pm.
Where:
Our Place Society Dining Room
919 Pandora Avenue, Victoria BC, V8V 3P4
How:
The guests will have a special treat this year: hundreds of donors to Our Place Society had a chance to write a message of hope on a placemat and send it to the mission with their donation. Guests will receive both a delicious Thanksgiving meal, and a message of love on their placemat from someone who has supported OPS.
Why:
The holidays are the hardest for people who have nowhere to go. Our Place Society is here as a home for anyone who needs it. “Christmas is an exceptionally difficult time to be on the street” says Gail Snider, Director of Operations at Our Place, “Without a warm home and festive meal, the holidays become much harder. We at Our Place Society appreciate the donors in Victoria who give so much to ensure the inner-city family is taken care of in this season.”
