VICTORIA, BC – BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and Ocean 98.5 would appreciate your support in announcing the tenth annual Ocean 98.5 Radiothon for Kids – a two day fundraising event that raises funds and awareness for BC Children’s Hospital, British Columbia’s full-service acute pediatric hospital for children. Funds raised from the Ocean 98.5’s Radiothon for Kids goes directly to the BC Children’s Hospital for urgently needed research, equipment, and education programs.
• Ocean 98.5’s Radiothon for Kids launches at 6:00am on Thursday, May 10,2012 with morning show hosts Michael Forbes and Lisa Marshall broadcasting from The Bay Centre.
• The event Continues today, Fri, May 11, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Since the in inception of Ocean 98.5’s Radiothon for Kids in 2003, Victoria Residents have raised $1.5 M for BC Children’s Hospital.
Throughout the broadcast, Ocean 98.5 will share touching stories of Vancouver Island families who have experienced the incredible care and attention of BC Children’s Hospital. Responsible for the health and well being of children between the ages of birth and 16 years, BC Children's Hospital sees more than 212,700 patient visits a year, with more than 7,000 of those coming from the island. It is the only full-service acute pediatric care hospital, the most comprehensive in Western Canada, and is one of Canada’s two premiere diagnostic and treatment centres for children with heart defects.
